The Hungarian Federation in the Netherlands is the master-organization of 'Hungarian' organizations in the Netherlands including churches (Roman Catholic and Protestant).

The Hungarian Federation in the Netherlands publishes a yearly newsletter, in February,  the HOLLANDIAI MAGYAR HÍREK - Mededelingen van de Hongaarse Federatie in Nederland, an Information Letter in Hungarian and Dutch concerning activities of Hungarian organizations in the Netherlands and other information.

ACTIVITIES:

The Federation represents 'Hungarian' organizations with Dutch authorities, provides for (general) information on 'Hungarian issues' in Holland and abroad. It is the editor of the 'Hollandiai Magyar Hírek'. It organizes commemorations of Hungarian national holydays:

• 15th of March (Constitutional Reforms in 1848 and War of  Independence) commemoration in Amsterdam organized in cooperation with the Hungaria Club Amsterdam 1929. On the 15th of March (when Saturday) or on Saturday before or after this date.

• 20th of August (Day of St. Stephan, the first King of Hungary in the year of 1000), commemoration in Vianen, organized in co-operation with the Roman Catholic and the Protestant Churches. Ecumenical Divine Service followed by a lunch and a meeting in the Hungarian Community Center in Vianen. On the 20th of August when (Sunday) or the first Sunday after this date.

• 23rd of October (Hungarian Revolution in 1956), organized in co-operation with the 'Mikes Kelemen Kör' in the Hungarian Community Center in Vianen. On the 23rd of October (when on Sunday) or on Sunday before or after this date.

News:

• Text of an acceptance-speech by Miklós I. Tóth delivered on the 22nd May 2001 in the New Church in Amsterdam on the occasion of the commemoration of the 325th anniversary of the liberation of 26 Hungarian protestant ministers, sentenced to forced labour on the galleys because of their faith, in 1676 in Naples by Admiral Michiel de Ruyter of the Netherlands, whose tomb is in the New Church in Amsterdam.
  During the ceremony five Dutch citizens received Hungarian state-decorations.
